Finance & Office Manager

Salary £28,000-£35,000, depending on experience

Our client was founded on passion and determination in 1990 to serve planning- and development-led archaeology and to safeguard and promote the heritage of North East England. Since that time, the company’s underlying culture and motivation have not changed, but it has grown into one of the largest commercial heritage and archaeology businesses in the North of England.

Responsibilities: (including but not limited to)

  • Oversee preparation of Monthly Management Accounts
  • Budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
  • Cashflow management
  • Manage all office administration
  • Manage the HR function alongside external HR consultants
  • Manage payroll in conjunction with external provider
  • Provide financial information and support to the archaeology team and the Board of Directors
  • Help maintain the company ISO certification (Quality, Health & Safety, Environment)

Skills and experience required:

  • A part-qualified accountant, or qualified by experience
  • Must demonstrate the highest level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality at all times
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
  • Excellent I.T. Skills – Word, Excel, Outlook etc
  • The ability to work accurately, paying close attention to detail
  • Must possess a positive, enthusiastic ‘can do’ attitude
  • Professional and assertive manner
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines and prioritise
  • Must have the ability to multitask, be self-motivated and able to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
